Concrete Formwork

B.T. innovation’s answer to adequate concrete formwork

The need of concrete construction and formwork systems by many companies is steadily growing. The condition of the construction should always be considered first, but economical costs should not be lost during the construction phases.

The general qualities of the development regulates the formwork and concrete works for the most part. New technologies and materials are more important than ever before in the formwork of concrete and precast concrete components.

Different kinds of formwork

There are many different types of concreting projects and a single variety of formwork cannot create all the looks. Therefore, there are many different types of formworks to make the projects come to life.

• Wall formwork
• Single sided formwork
• Column formwork
• Beam formwork
• Stair formwork
• Slip form formwork
• Climbing formwork
• Permanent formwork
• Frame formwork
• Girder formwork

Manufacturing concrete formwork

Formwork supports wet concrete, emphasizing the intended shape during the conversion from wet to hardened concrete. During this process, reliable concrete formwork is used as framework while concreting.

The formwork construction is accountable for the diffusion of the prevailing forces during concreting and regulates the ensuing surface texture and color pigment, too. The forces produced during the process is from the different aggregate phases. The concrete stays in the formwork during the entire operation; this includes compaction of wet concrete to the hardening of the concrete so that it is solid.

Facts about formwork shell

Amid concrete formwork, the formwork shell is what produces the wet concrete’s shape and the surface texture (i.e. rough or smooth grained surface). Formwork shells are divided in terms of load diffusion (diffusion of wet concrete stress), material (i.e. plastic or wooden formwork), or recurring uses and absorbency (i.e. while using an absorbent formwork system).

Many requirements are made on the surfaces of precast parts during exposed concrete formwork, thus the same requirements are on the formwork shell, too. The outcome may be a totally smooth or even textured surface. To avert blemishes, formwork boards can be pre-treated with a grout wash. Used formwork boards must not have any concrete debris or any damage to the formwork shell. When using formwork for structural concrete, many approaches can be taken. A grain-texturing of exposed concrete can be achieved just by using simple wooden planks. More refined formations can be accomplished with textured formliners. Polyurethane formliners are secured to the plywood formwork. Formation formliners can be used again but start to lose their ability with time. Formliners are only used at the same time with very definitive exposed concrete mixes. Expert formwork stripping is critical for a good outcome.

The surface of the concrete is stripped from the formwork shell by a proper release agent. This diminishes the adherence of concrete to the formwork shell, making separation effortless, for debris from the formwork shell should not be remain on the construction component. Success or defeat relies on using the proper release agent, regardless on which proper formwork has been picked.
