Magnet technology for formwork construction in the precast plant

In our magnet programme we have the solution for your company’s fastening problems in formwork construction. The worldwide unique MagFly® technology marks the decisive progress in the handling of magnetic technology.

Based on MagFly® magnets, we offer a powerful, versatile, internationally unique and future-proof magnetic system that is compatible with a wide range of concrete formwork.

We also offer a wide range of specialised magnetic solutions for fastening formwork, in particular U-profiles, threaded sleeves, spherical head anchors, electrical sockets and many other formwork accessories. Our shuttering magnets keep our promises!

Of course, the latest magnet generation from B.T. innovation also features the user-friendly and proven MagFly® technology for easy positioning and alignment of formwork and magnets. The magnet can be easily positioned and then fixed with millimetre precision using the patented foot/spring system.

MagFly®AP in combination with MultiForm and/or FlyFrame® – an unbeatable team
The MultiForm and FlyFrame® formwork systems developed by the company B.T. innovation both have suitable magnetic receptacles so that the MagFly®AP can simply be hooked into the formwork beam from behind. This allows the formwork to be precisely positioned and aligned by means of the formwork magnets before it is finally fixed in place by pressing down the magnets. As the magnetic holders for both formwork systems are identical, companies have the option of using either MultiForm and/or FlyFrame® in their production without any conversion work, depending on the application.

Use the magnet with the best holding force to mass ratio in its class.

Shuttering magnets with high holding forces do not necessarily have to be heavy. Do you know this too? For the use of different formwork systems, magnets are usually used in concrete plants. These are used to hold the formwork elements in the exact position under the forces applied during production. Since high adhesive forces are required depending on the application, the shuttering magnets were previously very heavy and unwieldy. This is or was very stressful for the employees and not always good for their motivation and health. It is not uncommon to find magnets in use whose own weight far exceeds 15 kg. However, not only health but also effectiveness falls by the wayside. In order to be able to transport the shuttering magnets from one place of use to the next, often only one or 2 magnets are carried at a time.

  • Very ergonomic design – its low mass and the new type of lever make carrying and handling child’s play
  • Extremely light yet enormously strong magnet system
  • Of course, the new MagFly®AP also has the integrated MagFly® technology for exact positioning.
  • Precise fixing of the magnet by light hand pressure
  • the fixed eccentric lever makes additional tools for loosening superfluous
  • Compact design with integrated adapter for MultiForm and FlyFrame®.

With a housing made of aluminium, high-performance magnetic materials and an integrated adapter for the MultiForm and FlyFrame® formwork systems from B.T. innovation, the new system magnet is both a powerhouse and a lightweight. With an adhesive force of 22,000 N and a mass of only 5.4 kg, it offers the best adhesive force-to-mass ratio in its class – not only in Germany but worldwide. Due to the ergonomic design of the eccentric lever and the low mass, it is possible for the worker to carry four shuttering magnets at the same time without any problems. Only a force of approx. 10-15 kg is required to release the magnet. This is only possible due to the specially developed eccentric attached to the magnet.

Definition magnet:
A magnet is a body that magnetically attracts or repels certain other bodies. Magnetic attraction or repulsion is a fundamental natural phenomenon.

Everyone is probably familiar with the fact that a bar magnet has two ends, usually referred to as the south and north poles, based on the earth. If you have two magnets, the north and south poles attract each other, while the same poles repel each other without having to supply energy. A compass needle also works on this basis: they are small, very light, movable magnets that usually align themselves in the earth’s magnetic field and provide information about the surrounding magnetic field based on their alignment.

Where are magnets used? – Examples from everyday life to technology

Magnets permeate everyday life and technology alike, whether as permanent magnets or as giant electromagnets. They are used in research, medicine and even materials testing.

When one thinks of magnets, most people think of the familiar permanent magnets, regardless of whether these are then used as bar magnets, in the shape of a horseshoe or perhaps as a small cylinder or as play balls. If something is to stick without gluing or drilling, magnets and the corresponding iron pads are needed.

Valuable metals are sorted out of the waste with the help of permanent or electromagnets. By the way, lifting magnets for scrap or old cars work according to the same principle. Electric motors and generators for electric current need magnets for their function (keyword: induction).

Shuttering magnets are also being used more and more frequently in the industrialised production of precast concrete elements.

Since most precast concrete parts are nowadays produced in or on steel formwork, the use of permanent magnets for fixing formwork has become established and is no longer imaginable without them.

The formwork as well as the corresponding substructures require a high and safe stability so that the loads due to the fresh concrete pressure and the forces arising during the compaction of the built-in parts can be transferred both horizontally and vertically. Since production takes place on steel surfaces, the connection between the formwork element and the substructure can be realised with magnets. With the help of modern formwork magnets and the corresponding additional products, very large forces can be transmitted in concrete formwork nowadays.

For this purpose, B.T. innovation can offer your company a comprehensive portfolio for the most diverse uses of magnets as well as the corresponding service.
