Seal joints of precast concrete elements inside and outside with the joint sealant InnoElast®

Fugenabdichtung Haus und Garten

What does this product have to offer?

The InnoElast® systems are modern, 1-component sealants that can be used universally. InnoElast® sealants can be used to seal movement and connection joints indoors and outdoors safely and permanently.

Advantages of InnoElast® Type 1

Advantages of InnoElast® Type 2

The soft and permanently elastic InnoElast® Type 1 is a sealant with a high movement absorption of ±25%. Movement joints in facades and paths indoors and outdoors are typical applications. The harder, permanently elastic InnoElast® Type 2 is used to seal structural joints against pressing water. It is extremely durable, resistant to many chemicals and withstands pressurised water up to 4.8m head of water. Joints in basements and sewage areas are typical applications. You can watch the application of InnoElast® in the product video.

Product details

InnoElast® sealants have excellent adhesion and application properties, which is why they can be used on substrates such as concrete, stone, wood, metal and many others without primer. InnoElast® can also be used safely on damp concrete surfaces and from as low as -3 °C. InnoElaste pastes are solvent-free and exceptionally low-shrinkage.

The sealant paste is so stable that even joints 5 cm wide can be filled safely before it hardens into an elastic rubber-like material.

Questions and answers about the product

1. Do the joints need to be cleaned?

Yes, the joint flanks must be free of dust, grease, loose components, ice and other separating materials. However, the joint flanks may be damp without a visible film of water.

2. when to choose InnoElast® type 1

For movement joints with movements of up to 25% and for joints that are only sprinkled and where no water pressure is applied.

3. when to choose InnoElast® type 2

For joints exposed to chemicals (acids, alkalis, selected fuels), for joints exposed to pressurised water up to 4.8m head of water and for joints that are adjacent to bituminous materials / coatings and should be tight.

4. when does skin formation take place? What is the curing speed?

The first skin formation takes place at 23°C and 50% rel. humidity. humidity takes place after approx. 2 h, with InnoElast 2 after 15 min. The curing time of the joint sealant can be estimated at 2-3 mm / 24h. At low temperatures, the reaction speed slows down and thus also the through-curing.

Are there any material incompatibilities?

Yes, InnoElast® 1 is not compatible with solvents such as petrol, some acids as well as acetic acid. On contact, the product softens and swells. In chemically stressed areas, please use our InnoElast Type 2, which has a high chemical resistance.
