Surface sealing for crack bridging in interior and exterior areas - LiquidElast® Type S and Type V

FlaechenElast Anwendung Teaserbild

What does this product have to offer?

LiquidElast® is a universal, elastic and pressure waterproof seal for surfaces as well as for joints in the entire construction area against pressing water. The one-component sealant can be used indoors and outdoors.

Your advantages

LiquidElast® type S (brushable) is painted onto the substrate, whereas the liquid LiquidElast® type V (groutable) is poured onto horizontal surfaces or joints. Wherever an individual, flexible sealing membrane adapted to the structure is required as a two-dimensional barrier even in the case of pressurised water, the LiquidElast® is the simplest solution.

Product details

LiquidElast® is used as a surface, bonding, or joint sealant. After hardening, LiquidElast® forms a “rubber-like” waterproof membrane to protect the structural elements behind it.
After hardening, the flexibility of LiquidElast® allows crack-bridging up to 5 mm. LiquidElast® can be applied to dry and damp concrete surfaces as low as 0°C structural element temperature (ice-free surfaces) and seals safely to a maximum water immersion depth of 10 m. You can view the application of LiquidElast® type S in our product video.

Questions and answers about the product

Can I use LiquidElast® in areas in contact with the ground?

Yes, LiquidElast® is ideal for underground applications. The product can be used permanently and does not decompose over time like competitor products. With LiquidElast® you can create a pressurised waterproof layer on your building component in just 2 layers. We recommend subsequently laying a dimpled membrane or similar around the sealed component so that the waterproofing is not damaged when it is poured on.

2. Does LiquidElast® have to be laid with a fleece?

Yes, and this is the case when high water pressure tightness is to be achieved, corners and projections are to be encountered and a crack bridging of 5 mm is to be achieved. For this purpose, a layer of LiquidElast® is applied to the component. The fleece is then rolled into the still fresh layer of LiquidElast®. After the first layer has hardened, a second layer of LiquidElast® is applied to the fleece. Thus, the fleece is impregnated with LiquidElast® on both sides and offers permanent protection against moisture.

3. Can LiquidElast® be used as a roof sealing?

Not directly. LiquidElast® has limited UV resistance and is designed for low mechanical loads (e.g. hail). However, LiquidElast® can be used without restriction as a waterproofing underneath with pre-set protection, without UV radiation and mechanical stress.

4. Are there any material incompatibilities?

In chemically stressed areas, please use our InnoElast® Type 2, which has a high chemical resistance.

5. What tool should I use for rolling out and how is it best cleaned?

We recommend using a lambskin roller to roll out LiquidElast® Type S. Cleaning should be done as soon as possible after use. Conventional solvents can be used for this purpose. When choosing lambskin rolls, make sure that they do not decompose due to the solvent.
