The specialists at B.T. innovation GmbH combine the advantages of horizontal and vertical production for panel-shaped precast concrete parts. This is made possible by a folding switch table that can be removed from the battery, the so-called butterfly*.

The symbiosis of the patented Butterfly Formwork® with the proven battery formwork significantly accelerates the production process. The process opens up new applications for battery formwork

Two worlds are connected: the newly developed butterfly folding formwork from BT innovation makes smart use of the specific advantages of horizontal preparation and vertical production. As with circulation systems, all preparatory work can be carried out conveniently and effectively in the horizontal plane: from measuring with a laser (or marking with a plotter), to formwork construction, positioning of the built-in components and placing of the reinforcement.

Parallel work sequences at the horizontal indexing tables outside the battery significantly reduce the set-up time, and the battery mould can then be completely loaded within a very short time.

Using the advantages of battery formwork: B.T. innovation GmbH developed the patented Butterfly Formwork®, turning battery formwork into a Butterfly Battery®.

Groundbreaking: The sound areas are not only removable from the battery. They can also be moved between the individual workstations with the help of roller conveyors/friction wheel drive like the pallets of a circulation system.

The butterfly principle. The shell area is twice the size of the compartment in the battery. Once the preparation is complete, the butterfly is suspended in the battery casing by crane. It folds up in the middle when you lift it. The formwork surface is thus moved from the horizontal preparatory position to the vertical position for concreting. Not a single work step in the narrow battery mould itself is necessary.

A conventional battery is only opened after concreting when the concrete has reached the necessary lifting strength. Butterflies, on the other hand, accelerate this process enormously. Here the prefabricated parts are lifted out together with the Butterfly Formwork® just a few hours after concreting and stored outside the battery for hardening. Since the finished parts do not have to bear their own weight when being lifted, the necessary waiting times are reduced. The finished parts can be removed from the battery together with the butterflies when they have a strength of just 3-8N/mm². Up to 4 concreting passes per day are possible, which can mean several 1000m² of finished parts.

Questions and answers about the product

1. How many concretings are possible per day?

According to the current state of the art, the butterfly battery has a capacity of up to 4 concretings per day in three-shift operation. Even with unskilled workers, 3.6 concretings per day could already be verified. In the cold season, energy-efficient heating systems support the continuous utilization of capacity.

2. How to achieve high capacity?

The prefabricated parts can be lifted out together with the butterfly formwork just a few hours after concreting and stored outside the battery for hardening. Since the finished parts do not have to bear their own weight when being lifted, the set-up times required are reduced. The finished parts can be removed from the battery together with the butterflies when they have a strength of just 3-8 N/mm². It can be concreted in this way every 5-6 hours.

3. Is a special magnet system required for vertical use?

In principle, no special magnet system is required for the battery mould, but BT innovation offers a highly efficient solution: The MagFly® AP system magnet, with the proven MagFly® technology for easy positioning and alignment of moulds and magnets, enables shuttering or recessing in minutes window and door openings.

4. Is butterfly technology compatible with circulation systems?

The butterfly battery can be designed as a circulation system. Our consultants will be happy to support you in the careful implementation of such a project.
